I want to talk to you about one of my favorite topics: supplement sales funnels.

Creating a high-converting sales funnel for your supplement brand is key if you want to succeed in this competitive industry. Luckily, my co-founder Peter Tzemis and I have sold over $87MM in supplements. We want to share our expert tips with you!

Know Your Customer

Before you start promoting your supplement offer, you need to know who you’re selling to. It’s crucial to understand the person you’re trying to help, their struggles, and what they want out of life.

Once you have a clear picture of your target audience, you can write compelling sales copy that speaks directly to them. Your messaging should be tailored to their unique needs and offer solutions to their specific problem. So, think about their age, gender, health concerns, and lifestyle when crafting your message.

If you created your supplement based on your personal health experience, tap into your feelings of frustration, fear, sadness, or overwhelm that led you to make your solution. This will help you empathize with your potential customers and understand how your product meets their needs.

Now, here’s the thing: always remember that you’re speaking to one person. So, avoid using “you all” or “we” in the sales copy. Your customer is an individual, not a group. So, speak to them directly as if you’re having a one-on-one conversation with a friend.

When you know your customer, you can create a sales funnel that resonates with them and helps them achieve their goals. So take the time to understand your audience, and your sales will skyrocket! Trust me; it’s worth it.

Critical Elements of a High-Converting Sales Page

If you’re looking to create a high-converting supplement sales page, there are a few elements you’ll want to include.

First up is a killer headline that speaks directly to your visitor’s pain points or desires. You want to grab their attention and make them feel like you understand their needs.

Next, your copy needs to be persuasive and easy to understand.

Finally, you want to address common objections and provide social proof through customer testimonials or case studies. This will help to build trust with your visitors and make them feel more confident in their purchase decision.

Of course, you’ll also want to include clear and visually appealing product images so your visitors can get a good sense of what they’ll be buying.

And remember the call to action! You want to guide your visitors toward making a purchase, so make sure your CTA is prominent and easy to find.

Last but not least, including trust symbols such as secure payment icons or money-back guarantees can help to build credibility and instill confidence in potential customers.

When you combine all of these elements, you’ll have a high-converting supplement sales page that’s sure to drive sales and grow your business!

How to Sell More to Every Customer

Next, as your customer goes through your sales funnel, you’ll want to have upsells and downsells in place. Upsells based on value encourage your customer to buy more now and are a proven way to increase revenue.

On the other hand, down sells are less expensive options that you offer to customers who have declined an upsell.

By presenting relevant upsell and downsell offers, you can increase the average order value and customer lifetime value while providing a better customer experience.

Additionally, upsells and downsells can help you recoup some of the cost of customer acquisition, making your marketing efforts more profitable.

Use High-Quality Visuals

In the supplement industry, people want to see what they’re buying. So make sure your sales page includes high-quality visuals of your product, including product shots and packaging. You can also have before and after photos or customer testimonials to showcase the benefits of your supplement.

Keep It Simple

Make sure to leave your visitors with enough information and clear purchase options. Keep your funnel simple and focused on your offer. Ensure your messaging is straightforward to understand, and avoid using industry jargon or technical terms that may confuse or alienate potential customers.

Use a Clear Call-to-Action

Your call-to-action (CTA) should be clear and prominent on your sales page. Use action-oriented language to encourage visitors to take action, such as “Buy Now” or “Claim Your Offer.”

Consider using urgency or scarcity tactics, such as a limited-time discount or a limited quantity available, to create a sense of urgency and encourage visitors to take action.

But don’t stop there!

Testing and optimizing your funnel is vital to ensure its effectiveness continually. Monitor critical metrics like conversion rates and customer acquisition costs, and adjust as needed.

Test different offers, headlines, and call-to-actions to see what resonates best with your audience.

And finally, remember the post-sale experience. Make sure your customers are satisfied with their purchase and follow up with them to get feedback and address any concerns they may have. This will help build a loyal customer base and drive repeat sales.

So, if you’re thinking about starting your own supplement company, that’s great! But before you dive in, let me share five things you must know to ensure your success.

1. The Surprising Truth About Understanding Market Demand

Before starting any business, you must understand the market demand for the product you want to sell.

In the supplement industry, it’s essential to identify a specific need or gap in the market and create a product that fills that need.

You’ll be ahead of the game if you can create a product that solves your potential customer’s problems.

But before diving headfirst into creating a supplement product, you need to understand who your ideal customer is, what they want, and what they’re looking for in a supplement.

To start, research the demographics of your target market.

What age group are they in? What gender? What income level? Knowing these details will help you create a product that caters to their needs and desires.

Next, you’ll want to understand your target buyer’s pain points.

What issues are they facing that your supplement can solve? Is it weight loss, stress relief, or muscle gain? Conduct surveys or engage with potential customers through social media to gain insights into their concerns and what they’re looking for in a supplement.

Once you have a solid understanding of your target buyer demographics and their pain points, you can create a supplement product that meets their needs.

Ensure that your product is unique and stands out from the competition while still addressing the specific needs of your target market.

2. Starting a Supplement Brand? Why Being Too Unique Can Hurt Your Sales!

While it’s essential to create a unique product that sets you apart from the competition, you don’t want to create something too unique when starting.

Customers are often skeptical of new and unfamiliar products and may be hesitant to try something they have yet to hear of before.

Instead, focus on addressing a specific need or market gap with a product similar to what’s already out there but with a unique twist. This will make it easier for potential customers (your target demographic) to understand the benefits of your product and will increase the chances of it selling.

Another vital factor to consider when launching a new product is overcoming objections from potential customers.

You may encounter objections like price, quality, effectiveness, or safety concerns. It’s essential to have a plan in place for addressing these objections and reassuring customers that your product is worth the investment.

To overcome objections, consider offering a satisfaction guarantee or providing testimonials from satisfied customers. You can also offer a free trial or sample size to allow potential customers to try your product before committing to a more significant purchase.

You can also provide detailed information about the safety and quality standards your product meets and any scientific research or testing supporting its effectiveness.

By addressing potential objections and creating a product that meets a specific need in the market, you can increase the chances of your supplement brand’s success.

3. Don’t Make This Mistake When Choosing a Supplement Manufacturer

Your choice of supplement manufacturer can have a significant impact on the success of your business.

While it may be tempting to go with the first manufacturer, you come across or choose the one with the lowest prices, this can be a costly mistake. Selecting the wrong manufacturer can lead to delays, poor-quality products, and even legal issues.

First and foremost, you want to ensure the manufacturer you choose is reputable and reliable.

Look for manufacturers that have been in business for several years and have a good track record. This is critical to know who you’re getting into business with…your choice of a manufacturer ultimately determines the effectiveness and quality of your product.

In my mastermind, I share with members several trusted supplement manufacturers that I recommend and do business with on a large scale.

Another critical factor to consider is whether the manufacturer meets all the necessary regulatory requirements.

The FDA has strict guidelines for supplement manufacturers, and failure to comply with these regulations can result in serious consequences for your business. Be sure to ask the manufacturer about their compliance with FDA regulations and if they have any certifications or quality control processes in place.

Lastly, you want to find a manufacturer willing to work with you to create a high-quality product or has ready-to-go white-label products. You want a manufacturer open to communication and collaboration and ready to make adjustments to ensure your product meets your needs and requirements.

Do your research and find a reputable, reliable, and compliant manufacturer willing to work with you to source a high-quality product that will help your business thrive.

4. Proper Supplement Labeling Can Make or Break Your Business

The way you label your supplement product is a crucial aspect of your business. Not only does it play a key role in meeting FDA regulations, but it can also impact how your customers perceive your brand.

Understanding and following the labeling requirements is essential to avoid costly penalties and build trust with your customers.

The FDA has established strict guidelines for supplement labeling, including the list of ingredients, serving size, and proper health claims. Non-compliance with these regulations can lead to serious legal issues and harm your brand reputation.

You’ll want to ensure your labels meet all requirements and are properly reviewed by a legal professional. Consider trademarking your supplement brand name.

In addition to compliance, labeling is also an opportunity to create a strong brand identity.

Your label should be attractive, informative, and engaging. It should communicate the benefits of your product and set it apart from the competition.

5. The Secret to Winning Over Customers: Why Sharing Your Supplement Brand’s Story is a Must!

Sharing the story behind your supplement brand is essential to creating a connection with your customers.

Your ideal customer is more likely to buy from a company they can relate to and that has a mission they can get behind.

By sharing your own experience or pain that led you to create your product, you’re giving your brand a personal touch and humanizing it. This will help build trust and credibility with your audience and make them more likely to try your product.

It also shows that you understand their struggles and are passionate about helping them. When sharing your story, make sure it’s authentic and genuine and aligns with your brand values and messaging.

Another way to create a connection is to provide excellent customer service. You’ll want to respond promptly to inquiries, address any concerns or issues, and go above and beyond to ensure your customers are satisfied. This can help establish a positive relationship with your customers and make them feel valued.

I’m sure you know how important it is to create a compelling supplement offer that will appeal to your potential customers.

Well there’s a huge difference between a compelling offer and one that will land you in legal trouble!

Have you ever heard of a faux mat?  It’s an ad formatted into an online news report that features miraculous celebrity transformations from muscle-building to weight-loss supplements.

The image featured is an example of a faux mat that the FTC charged as illegal.

A group of advertisers featured a “special report” for “Men’s Life & Health” claiming that “Will Ferrell Packs On Muscle in Just 3 Weeks Using These 2 Muscle Supplements That Celebrities Love.”

The subheading continued, “This report was created by Men’s Life & Health to expose the truth behind two new muscle-building supplements.”

The “report” was an ad for the supplements that promised substantial fat loss and muscle gain without changing diet or exercise.

But let me tell you, using a celebrity’s name or likeness without permission is a huge no-no.  Not only is it a violation of their rights, but it can also get you into serious legal trouble.

Deceptive faux mats violate the FTC Act.1  Decades of cases establish that it’s illegal to deceptively dress up ads to look like independent news, reporting, or programming.

Also on the list of practices to avoid: falsely claiming that celebrities endorse products or that media outlets have evaluated them.

I understand the temptation to use celebrity endorsements.  We’ve all seen those ads with famous actors or athletes claiming that they use a specific product.  But you must be extremely careful when using a celebrity endorsement in your marketing.  Without permission, you could be opening yourself up to a lawsuit that puts your entire business at risk.

When it comes to creating a compelling supplement offer, there are plenty of effective strategies that you can use that don’t involve using a celebrity endorsement.

How to Create a Compelling Supplement Offer – Try These 3 Proven Strategies Instead

Many other types of endorsements can be as powerful, if not more so, than a celebrity endorsement.

  • Customer testimonials are among the most effective ways to build trust and credibility with your audience.  By featuring testimonials from satisfied customers who have used your supplement and seen actual results, you can demonstrate your product’s effectiveness in an authentic and relatable way.
  • Before-and-after photos are another powerful tool that you can use to showcase the transformative power of your supplement.  By showing real-life examples of people who have used your product and achieved their health and fitness goals, you can help potential customers visualize what’s possible and inspire them to take action.
  • Expert endorsements from people in the health and wellness industry can also be a highly effective way to build credibility and trust with your audience.  You can position your supplement as a trusted and reputable product backed by science and research by featuring endorsements from doctors, nutritionists, and other health and wellness experts.

In addition to these types of endorsements, there are plenty of other strategies that you can use to create a compelling offer for your supplement.

For example, you could offer first-time customers a 180 day money-back guarantee, a promise of friendly customer service, or a massive discount on a high quantity purchase.

You could also create educational content, such as free ebooks or resource videos, providing valuable information and insights about your supplement, its benefits, and associated subjects of interest to your customer.

The key is to find a strategy that resonates with your audience and effectively communicates the value of your supplement.  Then, by developing a compelling, ethical, and legally sound offer, you can build a loyal customer base and grow your supplement business over time.

So, if you want to create a successful supplement offer while staying legally compliant, check out Supplement Millionaire Mastermind.  With the help of myself, my co-founder Peter Tzemis, and our expert coaches, you can learn how to create an irresistible offer that will take your supplement business to the next level!

Are you ready to unleash the full potential of your supplement brand? Today I’m here to guide you on an incredible journey of mastering supplement labeling like a true pro!

You see, I’ve been in the trenches of the supplement industry and witnessed firsthand the power that labels have on sales.

Your label is your way to build trust with your customers and show them that you have nothing to hide.

Think about it – would you want to buy a product if you didn’t know what was in it? Probably not.

But it’s not enough to list the ingredients; you also don’t want to make any false claims about their effectiveness.

One of the many perks of being a Supplement Millionaire member is that when you work with our selected manufacturers, they’ll send you a template to help you easily design your label, saving you time and frustration.

So, let’s dive into the art of creating labels that set you apart from the competition, instill trust and loyalty in your brand, and help boost conversions.

Clear and Concise Product Name

The product name is your potential customer’s first impression of your supplement.  It should be clear, concise, and accurately reflect the nature and benefits of your product.

Avoid exaggerated claims or misleading statements that could lead to consumer confusion or regulatory repercussions.

Accurate Ingredient List

Providing an accurate ingredient list is vital for consumer safety and regulatory compliance. List all active and inactive ingredients, in descending order of predominance by weight. Use common names and avoid abbreviations or ambiguous terms that could confuse consumers or regulators.

For example, suppose your supplement contains a particular herb known for boosting energy. In that case, you can’t claim it will give customers a specific amount of energy or make them feel a certain way.

Instead, it would be best if you focused on how it can “support healthy energy levels” or “boost energy”. This not only keeps you in compliance with FDA regulations, but it also builds trust with your customers.  Save the selling for your sales copy.

Supplement Facts Panel

The supplement facts panel is where you provide essential information about your product’s nutritional value. It should include serving size, the number of servings per container, and the amount of each nutrient or dietary ingredient per serving. Your panel should be easy to read, with clear headings and appropriate font sizes.

Allergen and Warning Statements

If your supplement contains common allergens like milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, or soy, it must include allergen statements to inform consumers. Also, be aware of any specific warnings or disclaimers required by regulatory bodies, such as those related to pregnancy, medication interactions, or potential side effects.

Proper Claims and Disclaimers

One crucial aspect of supplement labeling is accurate claims about your product’s benefits.

Therefore, it’s essential to understand the distinction between structure/function claims and health claims.

Structure/function claims describe the general impact of a nutrient or ingredient on typical body structure or function, such as promoting joint health or supporting cardiovascular function.

These broad claims do not directly link the supplement to specific diseases or conditions. They do not require FDA pre-approval.

In contrast, health claims establish a specific connection between a supplement and a particular disease or health condition.

These claims require rigorous scientific evidence to support their validity and undergo FDA review for approval.

Health claims state that supplements can prevent, treat, or cure a specific illness or condition. A HUGE No!

Here’s an example:

Structure/Function Claim: “Supports Joint Health”

This claim suggests that the supplement positively impacts the normal structure or function of joints. It indicates that the product promotes overall joint health without making a direct connection to any specific disease or condition.

Health Claim: “Reduces the Risk of Osteoarthritis”

This claim specifically links the supplement to a particular health condition. It suggests that consuming the supplement can lower the chances of developing osteoarthritis, a specific form of arthritis.

You want to use structure/function claims that focus on the general support of body structure or function and avoid health claims that make a specific connection to a disease or health condition.

Remember to include appropriate disclaimers to provide context and manage consumer expectations. For instance, you can add a disclaimer such as “Individual results may vary” or “This product is intended to be used as part of a balanced diet and exercise routine.”

Use Icons to Highlight Key Features

Consider using icons on your supplement labels to enhance consumer understanding and attract attention.

Icons can be used to specify if your product is vegan, nut-free, dairy-free, made in the USA, or produced under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.

These icons provide quick visual cues, allowing consumers to make informed decisions based on their dietary needs.

Your customers are looking for a product to help them achieve their health goals, and they’re counting on you to deliver on that promise.

By being transparent about your ingredients and avoiding false claims, you’ll not only stay out of trouble with the FDA but also build a loyal customer base that trusts and believes in your product.

In the competitive world of supplement sales, a well-crafted sales letter can capture your audience’s attention and convince them to make a purchase. One key aspect of a successful supplement sales letter after the headline and the lead is the closing section, where you can seal the deal and get the sale.

I’ll share the seven essential building blocks to help you create a masterful close for your supplement sales letter to maximize your online sales and grow your business.

The Power of Exclusivity

In today’s saturated market, emphasizing your supplement’s uniqueness is crucial. Highlight the distinct qualities and benefits that set your product apart.

Make your readers feel privileged to have access to this exclusive solution that can transform their lives. By conveying the rarity of your product, you create a sense of desirability and urgency.

Price Anchoring for Perceived Value

When selling supplements, the price can often concern potential customers. To soothe their worries, anchor the price of your product against the total costs they would incur by purchasing individual ingredients, visiting doctors, or dealing with the loss of valuable time.

Showcase your supplement’s exceptional value and help them see that investing in your product is a wise and cost-effective choice.

Unbeatable Guarantee with a Twist

Incorporate a guarantee that goes beyond the ordinary to instill confidence in your potential customers. Make it fun and unique, promising that their journey towards improved health will be enjoyable and rewarding.

By creating an atmosphere of trust and positivity, you establish a strong connection with your audience, making them more inclined to take the leap and try your supplement.

Harness the Power of Scarcity

Scarcity is a potent psychological trigger that can create a sense of urgency and increase the perceived value of your supplement. Implement four scarcity elements into your sales letter:

a) Low Supplies: Communicate that your product is in high demand and that limited quantities are available. Encourage readers to take action quickly before stock runs out.

b) Shipping Delays: Unexpected shipping delays can add an element of exclusivity to your supplement. Let your audience know that these delays are due to the overwhelming popularity of your product, further amplifying their desire to obtain it.

c) Villains are Shutting It Down: Unveil your challenges in bringing your supplement to market. Highlight external forces or opposition that are trying to suppress its availability. By positioning your product as unique and valuable, you empower your readers to join the fight against these obstacles.

d) Unique Production Process: Share insights into the meticulous production process behind your supplement. Highlight the exceptional care, expertise, and quality that go into its creation. This uniqueness will resonate with your audience and create a sense of exclusivity.

The Irresistible Offer

To incentivize larger purchases, offer exclusive bonuses to customers who buy six or more bottles of your supplement. These bonuses can be additional related products, free shipping, or access to valuable resources. By rewarding their commitment to well-being, you enhance the perceived value and encourage customers to buy in bulk.

Captivate with a Robert Frost Finale

As you approach the conclusion of your sales letter, leave a lasting impression with a powerful quote or statement.

Draw inspiration from Robert Frost’s famous poem and encourage your readers to choose the path less traveled regarding their health.

Connect your supplement to their aspirations for a better life and paint a compelling picture of the transformative journey they can embark on by embracing your product.

FAQs Recap

To address any lingering doubts or questions, briefly recap frequently asked questions. Then, anticipate your readers’ concerns and offer clear, reassuring answers.

Cover topics such as what happens after the sale, product safety, dosage instructions, potential side effects, and any relevant certifications or endorsements.

By addressing these questions directly, you provide valuable information that helps your audience make an informed decision and reinforces their trust in your supplement.

There’s a reason why when writing a supplement sales letter, the three most important components are: headlines, leads, and closes.

When you take the time to write a compelling close for your supplement sales letter, you are creating a massive call to action for your prospect. Make it irresistible.

By implementing these seven essential building blocks, you can create a masterful close that captivates your prospect and inspires action.

From highlighting the exclusivity of your product to incorporating scarcity, unique guarantees, and irresistible offers, each element plays a vital role in maximizing the impact of your supplement sales letter.
